back again with some of my favorite Apocrypals idiosyncrasies
-when benito says “uh huh” in that really amused way, usually encouraging chris’ shenanigans
-when chris says “hey benito?” in a very particular way that makes it sound like he REALLY wants to follow it up with “what the fuck??” except yall are trying to keep it uhhhhh Mostly family friendly
-when one of you catches the other COMPLETELY off guard with a bit and the other starts laughing hard enough that you can almost hear the tears
-“we’ll never know who is the scholar and who is the clown”
also the alvin and the chipmunks bit made me laugh probably a little harder than i should have
im mostly through episode 48, so im sure ill be back yet again with more things i like

Have you seen the pastor? monk? on tiktok who’s been talking about Neon Genesis Evangelion and christianity? I was just listening to the Jeremiah episodes and Benito said it didn’t really have anything to do with christianity but this man is really highlighting some interesting stuff
A
I have not seen it but maybe Chris has. I don’t use Tiktok except for the ones people send me directly.
And while Eva certainly uses a lot of Jewish and Christian imagery I still contend it is primarily “exotic” set dressing from Ultraman superfans. That said, I’m sure you could find lots of connections if you dug into it, like how Jesus kept refusing to get in robot
Okay, I’ll bite.
What is “Neon Genesis Evangelion?”
Well, we did it. On the new Snack Situation, we ate the Little Caesar’s Crazy Calzone that ties into “The Batman.” Listen and find out what we thought of this monstrosity.
Try to guess what liquids the rivers of Heaven are made of. The answer might surprise you!
It’s the apathetic chest thump that really completes this high-octane spot.
If you missed the livestream, no fear! You can still catch Chris and Benito joining Jonny and Sasha of The Magnus Archives and MacGuffin and Co playing their own RPG setting Guardians, where we played as terrible nuns Sister Madelaine, Bernice, and Hildegard of Bangin trying to save the French village of Montancien from a hellmouth
It is………….incredibly fun
